Block Watch Program
Quail Springs is in the process of putting together a neighborhood watch program and we NEED YOUR HELP! The program requires a minimum of 25 people or it can't be established, so please help keep our community safe by volunteering.
We just need your contact information to get started. Once we have met the requirement, we can schedule a Chandler Crime Prevention Office to come out and do a presentation to our volunteers. Please use our contact form to send us your name/phone letting us know you would like to participate.
So what is the Block Watch program?
The Block Watch program is done in partnership with the City of Chandler Police Department. It is basically neighbors looking out for each other and reporting anything that is out of the ordinary or suspicious in our neighborhood. The main focus of the program will be to:
- Become acquainted with your neighbors.
- Work together to solve neighborhood concerns.
- Help the police by raising awareness and reporting any unusual activities as they occur. (We know best what “normal” activity is in our neighborhood.)
- Learn to minimize potential risks by making safe choices (i.e. utilizing locks, lighting, etc.) to prevent crime in our neighborhood.
- Report suspicious persons.
- Look out for our neighbors.
How much time will I need to commit if I want to participate?
As far as commitment into the program...it is what we as a neighborhood put into it.
The real commitment comes from being a Block Watch Captain. The Captains are responsible for disseminating information from the Police department to the neighborhood. They are also required to coordinate and conduct at least two meetings a year.
Update - On 11/20/14 Quail Springs had their first Block Watch Meeting - Read more here
